Peanut Prohibited Activities Policy
To ensure the integrity, legality, and security of our platform, Peanut maintains a strict policy regarding the countries, businesses, transactions, and users we support. The following countries, activities, and uses are limited or prohibited on the Peanut card program.
This policy applies to all users, businesses, and transactions, and is subject to change based on regulatory, legal, and operational requirements. The lists below are illustrative and not exhaustive — Peanut may restrict additional countries, businesses, or activities at its discretion.
1. Restricted Countries
Card issuance and account opening
Peanut Cards and accounts cannot be issued to, or opened by, individuals or entities residing or registered in any of the following countries:
- Belarus
- China (Mainland)
- Cuba
- India
- Iran
- Iraq
- Israel
- Myanmar
- Nepal
- Nicaragua
- North Korea
- Russia
- Syria
- Turkey
- Ukraine
- Venezuela
- Vietnam
Card spending
Peanut Cards cannot be used for purchases in any of the following countries, regardless of whether the cardholder is an individual or an entity:
- Cuba
- Iran
- North Korea
- Russia
- Syria
- Ukraine
- Venezuela
We do not support onboarding or card use in jurisdictions that present heightened legal, regulatory, or sanctions risk. Users in countries on international watchlists (e.g., the FATF Grey List) require case-by-case review and explicit compliance approval. Other jurisdictions may be restricted at our discretion or based on sanctions or watchlists.
2. Prohibited Business Types
The following businesses and activities are not permitted to access or use the platform under any circumstances:
- Illegal or controlled-substance manufacturing or distribution, including drug paraphernalia, SARMs, peptides, and pseudo-pharmaceuticals
- Distribution of illegal substances or controlled drugs without proper licensing
- Human trafficking, prostitution, escort services, or mail-order bride operations
- Sale of counterfeit or unauthorized goods, or intellectual property infringement
- Pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, multilevel marketing (MLM), or other deceptive or predatory practices
- Production or distribution of illegal or protected digital content (e.g., child exploitation material)
- Illegal or unlicensed gambling and betting operations
- Political campaign fundraising or donation platforms
- Unlicensed money services businesses (MSBs), nested banking, or nested payment processing operations
- Weapons or arms dealing or manufacturing, firearms, munitions, explosives, or fireworks
- Adult content, services, or classifieds
- Hate groups, or businesses promoting intolerance, violence, or hatred
- Trade in endangered or protected animals and wildlife
- Abortion-related services
- Direct marketing
3. Business Types Requiring Review and Approval
Some businesses may be permitted only after enhanced review and approval — for example, on evidence of proper licensing, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. These include, but are not limited to:
- Money services businesses (MSBs) and remittance services
- Cryptocurrency platforms and exchanges
- Charities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- Precious metals dealers
- Online content or creator platforms (e.g., subscription-based streaming or tipping)
- Regulated gambling or fantasy sports operations
4. Prohibited Purchases and Transactions
The Peanut Card and account cannot be used for any of the following:
- Purchase or trade of digital or virtual currencies, or unlicensed provision of otherwise-licensed activities (including illegal cryptocurrency sales)
- Drug-related purchases, including marijuana, cannabis, CBD, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, SARMs, peptides, pseudo-pharmaceuticals, and black-market items
- Transactions on dark web marketplaces, or for hacking, cybercrime, or theft-related services
- Unlicensed or illegal gambling and betting
- Unlicensed internet pharmacies, or pharmacies operating outside regulated jurisdictions
- Firearms, ammunition, munitions, explosives, or fireworks
- Hazardous or poisonous materials and chemicals without proper regulatory clearance
- Espionage equipment, signal jammers, or blockers
- Escort services or similar platforms
- Adult content, services, or classifieds
- Unlicensed or illegal auction sites
- Unregulated or predatory lending, payday loans, deceptive credit repair, or abusive debt-related services
- Data brokerage services, especially involving unauthorized personal or confidential data
- Downloading, streaming, or distributing illegal or protected digital content
- Counterfeit goods or materials, or intellectual property infringement
- Trade in human remains or body parts
- Trade in endangered species or wildlife products
- Materials or activities promoting intolerance, violence, or hatred
- Abortion-related services
- Direct marketing
5. Enforcement and Monitoring
Peanut reserves the right to monitor all activity. We may suspend or terminate accounts found to be engaging in any of the prohibited activities listed above, and we may report violations to appropriate law enforcement or regulatory agencies where required.
