Send Money to Poland with Peanut — Coming Soon
Peanut is expanding to Poland. Soon you'll be able to send money and have recipients spend locally via BLIK — Poland's dominant mobile payment system.
Send Money to Poland with Peanut — Coming Soon
Poland has one of Europe's most advanced digital payment ecosystems, and at its center is BLIK — a mobile payment system processing over 1.5 billion transactions per year. From supermarkets and restaurants to online shops and ATM withdrawals, BLIK's 6-digit code system is how Poles pay. But sending money to Poland from abroad still means dealing with slow transfers, per-transaction fees, and exchange rate markups that reduce the zloty the recipient actually receives.
Peanut is building a better path. Soon you will be able to send money to Poland and have the recipient spend locally via BLIK — using a 6-digit code at merchants, scanning QR codes, or sending to friends by phone number. No fees, no local ID required, no multi-day bank transfer delays.
Why Peanut Will Be the Best Way to Send Money to Poland
Better Exchange Rate
Traditional transfer services add their own markup to the PLN exchange rate. Wise charges a variable fee plus a rate markup. PayPal takes 3-4% through cross-border fees and currency conversion charges. Peanut converts digital dollars directly to local currency at a competitive market rate, bypassing the layered markups that eat into every transfer.
No Fees
Peanut charges nothing on deposits, sending, or local spending. No transfer fees, no receiving fees, no hidden currency conversion charges. Compare that to Western Union's flat fees plus a marked-up rate, or PayPal's combined fees that quietly take a significant percentage off cross-border transfers to Poland.
Instant via BLIK
BLIK is built into virtually all Polish banking apps and supports merchant payments, QR scans, ATM withdrawals, and P2P transfers. Its 6-digit code mechanism means the recipient does not need a QR scanner or NFC hardware — just a code that works at any BLIK-accepting terminal. When Peanut launches, recipients will spend instantly through BLIK rather than waiting for a traditional bank transfer to clear.
No Local Account Needed
Poland's financial system requires a PESEL (national identification number) for opening bank accounts and accessing BLIK. EU/EEA citizens can obtain a PESEL relatively easily, but non-EU foreigners need residency registration. Peanut removes that barrier — recipients will verify with any passport, no PESEL or Polish bank account required.

What the Recipient Will Be Able to Do
Pay at Merchants with BLIK
BLIK is accepted nearly everywhere in Poland — Biedronka, Lidl, Zabka, Carrefour, restaurants, cafes, clothing stores, and electronics retailers. The recipient generates a 6-digit code in the Peanut app, enters it at the payment terminal, and confirms. Payment settles instantly. BLIK is also the dominant online payment method in Poland, so recipients will be able to use it for e-commerce purchases as well.
QR Payments
Beyond the 6-digit code, BLIK also supports QR-based merchant payments. The recipient scans a merchant's BLIK QR code for a seamless checkout experience.
Cardless ATM Withdrawals
BLIK enables cardless ATM withdrawals across Poland's ATM network. The recipient generates a BLIK code, enters it at the ATM, and withdraws zloty — no card needed. This is useful for situations where cash is still preferred, such as markets and smaller vendors.
Person-to-Person Transfers
The recipient can send money to other people in Poland using just a phone number through BLIK's P2P functionality, making it easy to split bills or share funds.
Bank Withdrawal
Recipients will also be able to withdraw to a Polish bank account, converting their digital dollar balance to zloty at the point of withdrawal.
Who This Is For
Polish Diaspora in the UK
The UK hosts one of the largest Polish communities outside Poland. Regular transfers home for family support, bills, and savings add up. Traditional services charge per-transfer fees and rate markups. Peanut will eliminate those costs, with the recipient spending via BLIK immediately — at supermarkets, restaurants, online shops, and ATMs.
Digital Nomads in Warsaw, Krakow, and Wroclaw
Poland is increasingly popular with remote workers due to low cost of living, strong internet infrastructure, and vibrant tech scenes. Without a PESEL, accessing BLIK is impossible. Peanut will give digital nomads full BLIK access from day one — no PESEL, no Polish bank account needed.
Tourists
Poland attracts visitors to its historic cities, natural landscapes, and cultural attractions. BLIK is the dominant payment method, and many smaller merchants may not accept international cards. Peanut's BLIK integration will give tourists full access to Poland's digital payment ecosystem.
How Much Will It Cost?
Peanut charges no fees on any operation. The exchange rate converts digital dollars directly to zloty at a competitive market rate.
| Service | Fee | Exchange Rate | Recipient Gets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peanut (planned) | $0 | Market rate | More zloty |
| Wise | ~$3-5 | Mid-market with markup | Less |
| PayPal | ~$5 + 3-4% | Below mid-market | Significantly less |
| Western Union | $5-15 | Worst rate | Least |
