A Local Payment Option in Each Country
Her usual payment options had included a foreign Visa card and cash. Peanut added a way to use local QR payments at participating businesses.
In Argentina, she used supported Mercado Pago merchant QRs. In Brazil, she used Pix QRs. The local payment method changed with the country, while she kept using Peanut.
One Balance, Two Payment Systems
Peanut lets her use one balance for those supported payments. At checkout, the app shows the local-currency amount and the final exchange rate before confirmation; the merchant receives payment through the local system.
For Purple, moving between Argentina and Brazil meant being able to use the payment methods she encountered at the counter through an app she already knew.
