Peanut vs Belo
Who controls your digital-dollar wallet? Compare how you hold your income, receive it and use it.
Belo combines international receiving with useful local payment options, and explicitly serves freelancers and remote workers. If you earn from abroad, both apps can help you receive income and use a digital-dollar balance. The main difference here is wallet control: Peanut’s main digital-dollar wallet uses your passkey, while Belo’s terms describe custody provided by its developer or a third party. Belo overview, general terms, checked 27 October 2026.
What wallet control means
In Peanut’s main wallet, you hold the key through a passkey secured by your device. Peanut does not hold that key. You use the passkey to authorize wallet transactions, with the familiar fingerprint or face check on your phone.
Belo uses a different arrangement: its developer, or a third party it appoints, provides custody of the digital assets. You instruct Belo through its app. That does not mean your money is stuck there: Belo also documents transfers to external wallets. Belo’s Argentina feature guide, checked 27 October 2026.
The practical choice is how you want to hold the balance between getting paid and using it. Peanut may fit if having the wallet key matters to you. With that control comes responsibility for access: Apple or Google passkey sync and recovery may help after a lost phone, but Peanut cannot restore an unrecoverable passkey. Read the account recovery guide before relying on the wallet for your income.
This comparison concerns Peanut’s main wallet. Receiving through a bank account and paying through a local network still have verification, eligibility and processing rules. Wallet control does not remove those requirements or establish that one app is safer overall.

Belo’s receiving details and fee come from its US receiving guide, EUR FAQ and availability matrix, checked 27 October 2026. Fees, features and exchange rates can change; use the current account terms and quote for your transaction.
Receive income into the wallet you choose
Start with the payment you actually receive: the currency, the sending account and the account holder’s name. A US company paying an invoice and an individual sending euros are different cases. Being able to open receiving details does not make every sender eligible.
In Peanut, verify your identity, open the available receiving account in the app and share its details with an eligible payer. USD and EUR payments become a digital-dollar balance. The account used to receive euros does not create a separate euro balance for you to keep.
Belo also supports eligible USD and EUR income. Its euro FAQ accepts own-account payments, payroll and businesses. This is a choice between two income tools, so compare the receiving route you need alongside the custody arrangement you prefer.
Compare the exchange rate for the same action
Receiving dollars, converting euros and spending pesos or reais are separate actions. A difference in the receiving fee does not tell you which app will give you the better final result when you later use the money.
For euros, check how many digital dollars the payment will add after conversion and any receiving charge. Belo says it shows the exchange rate; Peanut includes the conversion cost in the displayed rate. Compare the same euro amount at the same time, including any charges from the sending bank or payroll platform.
For a local payment, compare what leaves your dollar balance for the same purchase. Peanut shows the all-in quote before confirmation for a supported merchant QR. There is no matched, current quote here establishing an exchange-rate winner between Peanut and Belo. A receiving fee alone cannot establish one.
Where the receiving fee differs
For eligible USD ACH receiving, Peanut charges no receiving fee and applies no conversion spread. Belo lists USD 3 for each received ACH transfer in its personal-account receiving guide, checked 27 October 2026. That comparison covers this receiving action only; it does not cover wires, withdrawals or later spending.
The sender’s bank or payment platform may charge separately. Belo also has separate account-renewal conditions, so check those if you are estimating the cost of keeping receiving details open. Belo renewal guidance, checked 27 October 2026.
For a recurring income payment, check the receiving charge first, then the cost of the action you normally take next. Keeping digital dollars, paying a merchant and withdrawing to a bank can produce different totals. Peanut’s pricing guide separates those actions.
Use the balance after payday
After verification, Peanut supports compatible Mercado Pago merchant QR payments in Argentina and Pix payments in Brazil. Review the recipient, local amount and dollar cost before confirming. Merchant QR access does not require a local bank account; local ARS or BRL bank deposits and withdrawals have separate residence, tax-ID and own-account requirements.
Belo also connects international income with local use. Its Argentina guide includes peso transfers, bill payments and QR payments for accounts created with an Argentine DNI. Eligible users can also collect a Brazilian customer’s Pix payment through a QR or link, with funds credited as digital dollars. Collecting with Pix is a different job from paying with Pix. Belo Pix collection guide, checked 27 October 2026.
Where Belo can fit better
Belo is worth keeping if its local features already handle jobs you need. Its documented Argentina offering combines bill payments, a physical-card option and local payment tools for eligible accounts. Those features can matter more to your routine than the custody model or a receiving-fee difference.
Pix collection is another reason to consider it if Brazilian customers pay your invoices that way and your account qualifies. Check the specific feature in your account: Belo’s country matrix is organized by the country that issued your identity document, and not every account gets the same services. Do not assume another user’s setup will be available to you.
Which should you choose?
Choose Peanut if control of your main digital-dollar wallet matters, you can keep access to your passkey, and its eligible receiving and payment routes fit your income. The USD ACH receiving fee is a useful secondary distinction.
Choose Belo if its available local services, physical-card option or Pix collection better match your day-to-day needs. Using both can make sense when they serve different purposes. Before redirecting your income, confirm the payer rules and try the route you intend to use with a suitable small payment.
FAQ.
Is Peanut cheaper than Belo?
For eligible USD ACH receiving, compare the stated receiving fees above. For your overall monthly cost, also count how often you receive payments, any sender charges, conversion and the way you use or withdraw the money. Do not carry that ACH comparison over to a euro payment or a different transfer method.
Who can pay into my account?
For Peanut USD details, your own account and registered businesses can pay; another individual can pay less than USD 4,000 per transfer, with an exception for family sharing your surname. Texas residents can receive only from their own account. EUR accepts your own account or a registered business, not other individuals. Check the full payer rules before giving details to a client.
Is Peanut available in my country?
The app and bank features have different eligibility rules. App-store availability varies by market; receiving and local payment options depend on verification and the route. Check supported geographies and the options shown in your account before arranging a payment.
How do I switch from Belo to Peanut?
Download the Peanut iOS or Android app where available and create your account there. Save access to your passkey, complete identity verification for bank features, then open eligible receiving details. Confirm your payer can use them before updating payroll or invoice instructions. You can keep Belo while trying Peanut; there is no need to move your whole balance first.
