Deposit via Faster Payments
Add money from your bank in GBP. Use the current instructions in Peanut and receive a digital-dollar balance.
A one-off bank top-up lets you add money from your own account. Use the reference from Peanut to match the payment to your balance.
Before you send
- The one-off top-up minimum is 3 GBP. Follow the minimum displayed in the app.
- Use the current bank details and exact reference from Peanut. The reference matches the payment; the amount can differ, and what arrives is credited.
- Send from a bank account in your own name. To receive a client payment, use account details instead, as explained below.
Add money by Faster Payments
- 1
Open a bank deposit
In Peanut, open Deposit and choose bank transfer. Select GBP and the available method.
- 2
Copy the instructions
Copy the six-digit sort code, eight-digit account number, account name and exact reference. Send GBP only.
- 3
Send from your bank
Enter the details in your bank app. Check the reference, amount and any bank charges, then confirm. Keep the receipt.
- 4
Check your balance
Wait for bank processing and Peanut balance credit. A completed bank transfer and credited balance are separate stages.
Cost and timing
GBP converts to digital dollars. Peanut adds no receiving fee; the conversion cost is included in the exchange rate. Your bank may charge for sending.
Faster Payments normally settles in seconds, around the clock. Bank processing and checks can still delay the credit in Peanut.
Good to know
Bank deposits require identity verification and account checks. Access depends on verified residence; having bank details does not establish access. If the app says “not available where you live,” check the bank deposit guide.
For a client or employer payment, use the GBP account guide. Reusable account details have different payer rules from a one-off top-up.
If a deposit is missing, keep the receipt and follow the deposit help guide.
