How Do I Get Paid Into My Peanut Account?

Open an account once and keep it. Share its bank details with anyone who needs to pay you, and every payment lands in your Peanut balance as digital dollars. There is no reference number to copy and no exact amount to match.

Open an Account

  1. Open the app and tap Add money
  2. Tap Open an account
  3. Choose the currency you want to be paid in
  4. Copy the bank details, or share them from the app

You need to be verified first. Each account is for one currency. The bank details do not change, so you can save them, send them to your employer, or put them on an invoice.

You can have 2 accounts. If you need another one, contact support.

Which Currencies

CurrencyRailSpeed
Dollars (USD)ACH or wireACH 1-3 business days; wire the same day
Euros (EUR)SEPAUsually the same business day
Pounds (GBP)Faster PaymentsUsually within minutes
Mexican pesos (MXN)SPEIUsually within minutes
Colombian pesos (COP)Bre-BUsually within minutes

Colombian pesos need one extra check by our payment partner after you are verified. The app shows when it is needed. Colombian pesos also work both ways: get paid into the account, and withdraw pesos to a Colombian bank account.

UK and New York residents cannot open an account.

You cannot open an account in Brazilian reais or Argentine pesos. You can still add money in those currencies from a bank account in your own name, with details for one top-up at a time. See Deposit with Bank Transfer.

What Is Different From a One-Off Top-Up

A one-off top-up gives you bank details for a single payment. Those carry a reference number, and you send from a bank account in your own name (on Mexican pesos, any account can pay). The amount does not have to match: what arrives is credited, converted at our partner's rate.

An account has no reference, takes any amount above the minimum, and works for as many payments as you like. Your own payments in are always allowed. When somebody else pays, whether it arrives depends on who they are — see Who can pay into my account.

FAQ

Do the bank details ever change?

No. Once the account is open they stay the same, so it is safe to save them or put them on an invoice.

Do I need a reference number?

No. An account in your name has no reference. That is the main thing that separates it from a one-off top-up.

Is there a minimum payment?

It depends on the currency: 1 EUR for euros, 2 GBP for pounds, 50 MXN for Mexican pesos, 100 COP for Colombian pesos. Dollars have no minimum. The app shows the minimum on each account.

Can I open more than one currency?

Yes, up to 2 accounts. Support can open another if you need it.

Can I stop using an account?

Contact support and we will retire it for you. There is no way to do it yourself yet. Retiring does not switch the bank details off, so anyone who has them can still pay into them, and those payments are credited to you. Tell the people who pay you first.
