Why Did the Recipient Not Get My Payment?

If you sent money and the recipient says they have not received it, the fix depends on how you sent it. QR payments (Mercado Pago, Pix) confirm instantly — if the merchant did not receive it, the payment likely failed and was auto-reversed to your balance. Bank transfers and Peanut Links have processing times that vary by rail.

Check Your Payment Status

    Open the app and check transaction history

    Find the transaction in your history. It will show one of three statuses: confirmed, pending, or failed. If confirmed, the payment was sent successfully.

    QR payment — merchant says they did not receive it

    If your app shows the payment as confirmed, ask the merchant to refresh their Mercado Pago or Pix account. The merchant sees a normal local payment — they do not know Peanut is involved. If your app shows the payment as failed, it was auto-reversed to your balance.

    Peanut Link — recipient says they cannot claim

    Make sure the recipient has the correct link. If the link was claimed by someone else, it will show as claimed in your transaction history. If unclaimed, the recipient should try opening the link again in a supported browser.

    Bank transfer — recipient says funds have not arrived

    Check the expected processing time: SEPA takes up to 20 minutes for 90% of transfers (up to 1 business day). ACH takes 1-3 business days. Transfers initiated on weekends or holidays do not process until the next business day.

    Contact support if still unresolved

    If the payment shows as confirmed in your app but the recipient still has not received it after the expected processing time, contact support with the transaction details from your history.
