Can I Get a Refund on Peanut?
Completed payments on Peanut are final — there are no merchant-initiated or Peanut-initiated refunds. If a payment fails mid-transaction (the merchant did not receive it), Peanut auto-reverses it to your balance. Unclaimed Peanut Links can be reclaimed at any time.
QR Payments (Mercado Pago, Pix)
- Completed payments are final. Once the merchant receives the payment, it cannot be reversed.
- Failed payments are auto-reversed. If the payment was sent but the merchant did not receive it (network error, timeout), Peanut automatically refunds your balance. This typically takes under a minute.
- Wrong amount charged? Contact support. There is no formal dispute process, but support can investigate the transaction.
- Double charge? Contact support with both transaction details. This is resolved on a case-by-case basis.
Peanut Card Payments
The Peanut Card is in closed beta, rolling out gradually through a waitlist. Check if you're eligible to skip the waitlist at peanut.me/shhhhh.
- Declined card payments reverse automatically. If a card payment is declined (for example, at a restricted merchant category), the hold on your funds is released and the money returns to your balance on its own. Most reversals settle within minutes.
- Pending authorizations can linger. If a merchant never completes an authorization, the hold closes automatically after 14 days (amounts up to $1,000) or 31 days (above $1,000). If a hold seems stuck, contact support.
- Merchant refunds on card purchases appear as separate transactions in your history and usually settle near-instantly.
Peanut Links
- Not yet claimed: You can reclaim the funds at any time. Open the link from your account and select Reclaim. The money returns to your balance instantly.
- Already claimed: The transfer is complete and cannot be reversed. If you sent the link to the wrong person, contact support.
Bank Withdrawals
- Failed withdrawal: If the bank rejects the transfer (wrong details, closed account), your balance is automatically re-credited — usually within 1 day.
- Pending withdrawal: Once confirmed, withdrawals cannot be cancelled.
- Sent to wrong account: Contact support immediately. Recovery depends on the receiving bank.
Crypto Withdrawals
- Completed transactions are final. Once broadcast to the network, they cannot be reversed or cancelled by Peanut.
- Sent to wrong address: If the address is valid on the selected network, the funds are gone. If sent to an unsupported network, contact support — some tokens can be recovered.

FAQ
Can I dispute a charge with a merchant?+
Peanut does not have a chargeback or dispute mechanism. If you have an issue with a merchant, contact the merchant directly. For Mercado Pago payments, the merchant sees a normal Mercado Pago transaction — they can process merchant-side refunds through their own system if they choose to.
How long does an auto-refund take?+
Failed QR payments are auto-reversed in under a minute. Failed bank withdrawals are re-credited within 1 day.
Can I cancel a pending bank withdrawal?+
No. Once you confirm a bank withdrawal, it cannot be cancelled. Always double-check the bank details before confirming.
What if I sent crypto to the wrong network?+
If the token is supported on that network, it may have arrived at the same address on a different chain — contact support. If the network is not supported by Peanut, recovery may or may not be possible depending on the specific situation.
Can I get a refund if I was scammed?+
Completed transactions cannot be reversed. If you were scammed, contact support with all available details. For QR payments, the merchant received a normal local payment — Peanut has no visibility into the merchant's side.
