How Do I Claim My Pending Rewards?

When you earn rewards through referrals, they first appear as a pending balance in your account. To move them to your spendable balance, you need to make a payment — a claim prompt will appear, and you tap to claim. There is no separate claim button in the app.

How the Claim Flow Works

Rewards you earn from your referrals' activity accumulate in a pending balance visible in your dashboard. This balance grows each time someone in your referral network makes a transaction through Peanut. However, pending rewards do not move to your spendable balance automatically — you need to trigger a claim by making a payment.

When you make a QR payment at a participating store, the app opens and displays a claim prompt right after the transaction. Tap the prompt, and your pending rewards move to your spendable balance instantly. The process takes a single tap and happens within the payment flow itself.

Small pending balances may accumulate silently for a while. The app waits until you have a meaningful amount before surfacing the claim prompt, so you are not interrupted for tiny amounts after every transaction.

Claim Your Rewards in 3 Steps

    Make a payment

    Use your Peanut QR code to pay at a participating store. The payment itself works as usual — scan, confirm, done.

    Tap the claim prompt

    After the payment completes, a claim prompt appears on screen showing your pending reward amount. Tap it to claim.

    Check your spendable balance

    Your rewards move from pending to spendable immediately. You can see the updated balance on your home screen and in the rewards dashboard.

Card Payments and Claiming

If you pay with your Peanut card at a physical store, the claim flow works differently. Because the app does not open during a card tap, there is no real-time claim prompt. Your rewards still accumulate normally behind the scenes.

The next time you open the Peanut app, a claim prompt will appear in the home screen carousel. Tap it to claim your pending rewards. Push notifications also help bridge the gap — you will receive a notification when you have rewards ready to claim, so you know to open the app.

Promotional and Waitlist Rewards

Some rewards work differently from the standard referral claim flow. Promotional rewards and card waitlist referral rewards can be claimed freely — you do not need to make a payment first. When these rewards are available, a claim option appears directly in the app without requiring a transaction.

Tracking Your Rewards

Your rewards dashboard gives you a full picture of your earnings. From the dashboard, you can see your current pending balance, a history of all rewards you have earned, a log of past claims, and a list of your referrals. The home screen carousel also displays a call-to-action when you have pending rewards waiting to be claimed.

Push notifications keep you informed in real time. Each time someone in your referral network makes a transaction and you earn a reward, you receive a notification — for example, "Your friend just used Peanut. You earned a reward."

Points and rewards are two separate systems. Points are a gamification score used for leaderboards and promotions. Rewards are real money earned from referrals. They do not affect each other.

What Happens After a Refund?

Once a reward has been earned, it stays yours. If a transaction by one of your referrals is later refunded or reversed, your reward from that transaction is not clawed back. The reward was already earned and remains in your balance.
