Why aren't my rewards showing up?

If you expected a reward but don't see it in your balance, there are a few common reasons. Most of the time, the reward is there — it just hasn't surfaced yet because of how the claim flow works.

Common Reasons Rewards Don't Appear

Before troubleshooting, it helps to understand how rewards flow through the system. Rewards move through three stages: earned, pending, and claimed. Several things can cause a delay or gap at each stage.

1. Your account isn't fully activated

You need to complete identity verification (KYC) and make at least one outbound transaction before you can earn or receive rewards. If you skipped either step, rewards from referrals won't accumulate yet. Finish activation first, then your referral earnings will begin.

2. Your pending balance is too small

Rewards accumulate silently in your pending balance. When the amount is small, Peanut doesn't trigger a claim prompt — it waits until there's a meaningful amount to claim. This is normal. Your rewards are safe; they just haven't reached the threshold for a claim notification.

3. You paid with a card at a store

Card payments at physical stores don't open the app, so there's no real-time claim popup after the transaction. Your rewards still accumulate normally in your pending balance. The claim prompt will appear in your home carousel the next time you open the app. You may also receive a push notification letting you know rewards are available.

4. Your referral hasn't activated yet

You only earn rewards from a referral after they complete their own activation — identity verification plus at least one payment. Until your invitee finishes those steps, no earnings are generated from their activity. Check your referral list in the rewards dashboard to see each referral's status.

5. Pending rewards expired

Claim your pending rewards regularly by using the app. Unclaimed rewards expire after 3 months per Terms & Conditions. If you earned a reward but did not claim it within that window, it is no longer available.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Open the Peanut app

Go to your home screen. Look for a rewards card in the home carousel — if pending rewards are available, a claim prompt will appear here.

  2. 2

    Check the rewards dashboard

Tap the rewards section to view your pending balance, earnings history, and referral list. This shows everything you've earned and what's waiting to be claimed.

  3. 3

    Review your referral list

Check whether your invitees have completed activation. If they haven't finished identity verification or made their first payment, you won't see earnings from them yet.

  4. 4

Make a payment to trigger claiming

For referral rewards, the claim prompt appears after you make a payment. Complete a QR payment, then watch for the claim prompt to appear.

  5. 5

    Tap to claim your reward

When the claim prompt appears, tap it. Your pending rewards move to your spendable balance immediately.

Info

Rewards from referrals are claimed during transactions — there's no separate claim button. Make a payment, and the claim prompt appears automatically.

Info

Push notifications will alert you when you have rewards to claim. Make sure notifications are enabled for the Peanut app.

FAQ

How long do pending rewards last before they expire?+

Claim your pending rewards regularly by using the app. Unclaimed rewards expire after 3 months from the date they were earned per Terms & Conditions.

Can I lose a reward after it's been claimed?+

No. Once a reward is claimed and moved to your spendable balance, it stays there. Rewards are not clawed back for refunds or reversals on the underlying transactions.

Why didn't I get a popup after paying with my card?+

Card payments at physical stores don't open the app, so there's no immediate popup. Your rewards still accumulate. Open the app afterward — the claim prompt will appear in your home carousel, and you may get a push notification.

My friend signed up through my link but I see no earnings. Why?+

Your friend needs to complete identity verification and make at least one payment before you start earning from their activity. Check your referral list to see their activation status.

I earned a surprise reward on my first spend but nothing on the third. Is that normal?+

Yes. New users receive two surprise rewards split across their first two QR spends after activation — $0.35 on the first and $0.65 on the second, totaling $1.00. After that, ongoing rewards come from referral activity.
