Where Can I Use Peanut?
The Peanut apps are available through the App Store and Google Play in select markets. The service supports digital-dollar use in countries outside the restricted list, but each payment and bank route has its own eligibility.
Current Functions
- Digital-dollar deposits and withdrawals: Use the currency, network, address, minimum, and cost shown in the app.
- Peanut Links and Requests: Send or collect digital dollars where the service is available. External claim or funding routes keep their own requirements.
- Merchant QR payments: Live for supported Mercado Pago QR in Argentina and Pix QR in Brazil after identity verification. In Brazil you can also pay any Pix key (Send → Bank → Brazil). Sending to someone else's alias, CBU or CVU in Argentina is not available.
- Bank transfers: Available only to eligible verified accounts: SEPA (EUR), ACH and wire (USD), Faster Payments (GBP), SPEI (MXN) and Colombian peso (COP) transfers. UK residents cannot use any Peanut bank route. New York residents and residents of some restricted countries cannot use them either.
- Accounts: Verified users can open an account in USD, EUR, GBP, MXN or Colombian pesos (COP), wherever they live, and reuse its bank details for every payment. COP needs one extra check by our payment partner. Residents of the UK, New York and some restricted countries cannot open one. See How do I get paid.
- Local ARS and BRL banking: ARS needs Argentine residence and CUIT, CUIL, or DNI. BRL needs Brazilian residence and CPF; withdrawal goes to the user's own account.
Passport verification can unlock supported merchant QR payments. It does not by itself unlock local ARS or BRL bank accounts.
FAQ
Does the app store country prove bank eligibility?
