Use Peanut in Germany
Add euros through an eligible SEPA transfer, hold digital dollars, and use supported transfers or QR payments when you travel.
Peanut supports EUR bank deposits and withdrawals for eligible verified users in Germany. You can also deposit and withdraw supported digital dollars. A bank account alone does not establish access: complete verification and use the routes shown for your account.
Germany uses euros, so SEPA is the relevant local bank route. This guide covers bank transfers and digital dollars; merchant QR spending is currently supported in Argentina and Brazil.
Add euros to your balance
For a SEPA deposit, Peanut gives you the bank details and instructions for the transfer. Copy the reference carefully and check the required sender name. A mismatch can delay the deposit or cause it to be returned. Follow the current instructions for each deposit instead of reusing old details.
Your euros convert into a digital-dollar balance. Conversion costs are included in the displayed exchange quote; a bank transfer is not automatically a free currency conversion. Your sending bank may also apply its own charges. See the SEPA deposit guide before making your first transfer.
Get started in Germany
- 1
Check your account
Create your Peanut account and complete the verification required for bank transfers. Check which methods are available.
- 2
Choose how to add money
For EUR, use the current SEPA deposit instructions. For a digital-dollar deposit, match the exact currency, network and address shown in Peanut.
- 3
Review the transfer
Check the amount, reference and exchange quote. External banks and networks have their own processing times.
- 4
Use the credited balance
Hold digital dollars, send a funded Peanut Link, use an eligible bank withdrawal, or pay through a supported QR flow.
Get paid in euros with your own IBAN
Verified users can also open a EUR account: an IBAN that you share once and reuse for every payment. In the app, go to Accounts, then Open new account, and tap Open EUR account. Payments need no reference, and the IBAN works across the SEPA zone even if it was issued in another EU country.
Only your own bank account and businesses, such as an employer or a client's company, can pay into it. A transfer from another person is returned to the sender, so friends and family should send you a Peanut Link instead. The account is free to open and keep, and you can hold two accounts at a time. Euros convert to digital dollars at the rate shown, with the conversion cost included. Read who can pay into your account.
Send or withdraw
With a funded balance, you can create a Peanut Link and share it with the recipient. They open and claim the link. An internal claim can be instant once the link is funded; external funding and bank payouts have separate timing and eligibility requirements. Read the link guide for the full flow.
Eligible users can also send directly to a supported bank account. SEPA transfers can go to your own account or another person's eligible account. Review the beneficiary details and EUR amount before confirming.
Pay while visiting Argentina or Brazil
In Argentina, Peanut supports Mercado Pago merchant QR payments. In Brazil, use supported Pix payments. Check the merchant, local amount and final exchange quote before confirming.
Passport verification can support these QR payments. Local ARS and BRL bank deposits and withdrawals have separate residence and tax-ID requirements; QR access does not unlock them. Set up and fund your account before you rely on it for a purchase.
Costs and arrival times
The final quote shows the conversion for EUR transfers. Network withdrawal charges vary, and a sending wallet or bank may charge separately. Check current pricing for the route you intend to use.
A deposit, a funded Link claim and a bank withdrawal are different steps. Bank processing, verification and incorrect details can delay a transfer, so allow time for the balance to arrive before a bill or trip.
