Receive through Plane

Plane pays contractors when their client or employer schedules a payment to their bank account. You need an invitation from that organization, and the available bank currency and transfer method depend on the destination. There is no contractor wallet balance to withdraw: adding an account prepares a destination for an employer-initiated payment.

Before you start

Complete your Plane invitation and onboarding. Have the receiving bank's country, supported currency, account details and your account holder name ready. Use an account in your own name, matching the bank's records.

Bank country means the account's location, even if your home is elsewhere. Provide your actual residential address where requested; Plane does not accept PO boxes. Do not change your residence to match a foreign bank. If you work with more than one organization, confirm that you are in the right Plane profile.

Add your receiving account in Plane

  1. 1

    Open Bank accounts

Sign in and go to Payments > Bank accounts. Select Add account and confirm with your Plane password.

  2. 2

Select the bank country and currency

Choose where the bank account is located, then enter its currency and requested identifiers. Depending on the destination, the form may ask for a transfer type such as ACH or wire. Use the bank's instructions for that method.

  3. 3

    Enter the account holder information

Choose Individual or Business as appropriate for the account, then enter the holder name and actual residential address. Check that the name meets Plane's own-account requirement and matches the bank record.

  4. 4

    Save the account

Finish adding the account. This saves receiving details; it does not request payment or release an employer's funds.

  5. 5

    Check the scheduled payment

Open Payments > History to review the payment date and destination. If no payment is scheduled, ask your organization. Check the account attached to the payment instead of assuming a newly added account replaces every existing destination.

The procedure follows Plane's account setup guide and contractor FAQs.

Plane fees and payment timing

As checked on October 27, 2026, Plane says it charges contractors no fee to receive payments and adds no currency-conversion fee or exchange-rate markup. Intermediary banks can still deduct charges on international SWIFT transfers. The recipient fee policy therefore does not promise that every route is free. Employer subscription or payroll costs are a different category.

Funding also affects timing. Plane describes four business days of processing for contractor payments funded from the organization's bank account. Its shorter two-business-day process applies to one-time payments from a previously funded Plane Balance, not contractor payroll generally. Both figures come from its employer funding guide.

Do not add those two estimates together or treat either as a universal bank-arrival guarantee. First check whether the organization scheduled the payment, then its displayed date and processing status. An approved invoice in another system does not show whether Plane has started payment.

Considering Peanut as a receiving account

The Plane-to-Peanut route is not confirmed. The USD receiving guide explains Peanut accounts, while payer eligibility covers who may send money. Access depends on verification, residence and account approval. Those conditions do not establish that Plane accepts the bank details. Ask support to check the exact account, holder name and platform requirements before arranging a payment.

If a payment is missing or rejected

For an absent payment, ask the employer or client whether it has been scheduled and funded. Check the organization profile and Payments > History. If Plane rejects an account or payment without clear instructions, contact Plane support.

For a payment marked sent, request the transfer reference and receipt from Plane, then contact the receiving provider. Share the amount, currency, expected date, current status and reference privately. If you expected it in Peanut, use the deposit-not-showing guide to prepare the case.

FAQ.

Can I join Plane without an employer invitation?

Plane's contractor FAQ says contractors cannot sign up independently. Ask the organization paying you to send the invitation.

Can I withdraw only part of my payment?

There is no contractor wallet from which to make a partial withdrawal. The organization schedules the bank payment.

Can I change a scheduled payment's account?

Plane permits a destination change before processing. Check the payment's status and contact Plane if you are unsure whether a change can still apply.
