I Sent the Wrong Token — Can I Get It Back?

Often, yes — and you can do it yourself. If you sent an unsupported token to your Peanut deposit address on Arbitrum, Ethereum, Base, or Linea, open peanut.me/recover-funds, pick the token, and send it to any wallet address you control. Tokens on other networks are not covered by the tool — contact support for those.

What the Recovery Tool Covers

Peanut credits only USDC, USDT, and ETH to your balance. Any other token stays on-chain at your deposit address. It is not lost — it is sitting at an address only you control, and the recovery tool moves it out.

The tool works on four EVM networks:

NetworkSelf-service recoveryNotes
ArbitrumYesYour main Peanut network
EthereumYes
BaseYes
LineaYesNot a deposit network — recovery only
PolygonNo — contact supportA supported deposit network, but outside the recovery tool
SolanaNo — contact supportNot an EVM network
TronNo — contact supportNot an EVM network

Your spendable dollar balance never appears in the list. The tool shows only tokens that are not part of your balance, so there is no way to move your own funds out by mistake.

Recover a Token

  1. 1

    Open the recovery page

Sign in to Peanut, then go to peanut.me/recover-funds. The page reads your deposit address and lists every recoverable token it detects.

  2. 2

    Select the token

Tap the token you want to move. Each entry shows the amount and the network it is on. Check the network before you continue — it decides where the funds can go.

  3. 3

    Enter a destination address

Paste a wallet address you control on that same network. An ENS name works too. Do not reuse your Peanut deposit address — the token would stay exactly where it is.

  4. 4

    Review the transfer

Check the amount, the token, the network, and the destination on the review screen. The tool sends the full balance of that token; there is no partial amount.

  5. 5

    Confirm and sign

Tap Confirm and approve with your passkey. Peanut covers the gas — you do not need ETH in your account.

  6. 6

Check it on the block explorer

The success screen shows a "View on explorer" link. Open it to confirm the transaction. To move another token, tap "Recover other token".

Important

The destination address must be able to receive that token on that exact network. Exchange deposit addresses are the common trap — many exchanges reject tokens or networks they do not list, and the funds can be lost for good. When in doubt, send to a self-custody wallet you control first.

What the Tool Cannot Recover

Self-service recovery has real limits. It cannot help with:

  • Tokens on Solana, Tron, or Polygon. The tool only reaches Arbitrum, Ethereum, Base, and Linea.
  • Tokens sent to an address that is not yours. If you pasted the wrong address, the funds went to someone else's wallet. Peanut cannot reverse an on-chain transfer.
  • Tokens sent on a network your wallet does not support. If your sending exchange used a network the destination does not recognize, the tokens may never have arrived at a recoverable address.

Tip

Prevent the problem instead: copy the deposit address directly from the app and match the network in your exchange to the network shown in Peanut. See how to deposit with crypto for the full checklist.

If Your Token Does Not Appear

The list is built from an on-chain balance lookup. A missing token does not mean the funds are gone.

  • Wait and reload. A recent transfer may not be indexed yet. Give it a few minutes and refresh the page.
  • Check the network. Confirm on a block explorer which network the token actually landed on. If it is not one of the four supported networks, the tool will not show it.
  • Contact support. If the transaction is confirmed on a supported network and the token still does not appear, send us the transaction hash in the app chat.

You may also see one of these messages:

  • "Recovery not yet available for [network]" — that network is not wired into the tool yet. Contact support.
  • "Your session has expired" — refresh the page and sign in again.
  • "Transaction reverted" — the transfer did not go through and nothing moved. Try again, and contact support if it repeats.

FAQ

Does recovery cost anything?+

No. Peanut covers the gas fee on the recovery transfer, the same as on deposits and withdrawals. You do not need ETH in your Peanut account.

Can I recover only part of the balance?+

No. The tool sends the full balance of the token you select. To split it, move everything to a wallet you control and split it there.

Can I send the recovered token straight to an exchange?+

You can, but check first that the exchange accepts that token on that network. If it does not, the deposit can be lost permanently. Sending to a self-custody wallet first is safer.

Will the recovered token be converted to dollars?+

No. Recovery moves the token as-is to the address you choose. Only USDC, USDT, and ETH are converted and credited to your Peanut balance.

I sent an unsupported token on Solana or Tron. What now?+

The recovery tool does not cover those networks. Contact support in the app chat with the transaction hash. Recovery is not guaranteed.

Do I need identity verification to use recovery?+

No. Recovery is a crypto transfer from your own account, so it works without KYC — the same as crypto deposits and withdrawals.

Is my dollar balance at risk when I use this?+

No. The tool never lists the USDC that makes up your spendable balance, so you cannot send it away by accident.
