Can You Use Swish Without a Swedish Bank Account?

Peanut does not support Swish payments today. Swish is planned, and no launch date has been announced.

This page explains how the native Swish service works now, what its usual setup requires, and where to find current information about Peanut in Sweden.

How Swish Works Today

Swish is a Swedish mobile payment service for payments in Swedish kronor. The native service links a user's mobile number to a bank account. People can send money to a mobile number, while businesses can offer Swish at checkout or through a QR code.

The payer reviews the request in the Swish app and authorizes it with Mobile BankID. That is the native Swish experience; it does not describe a Peanut payment flow.

Can You Use Swish Without a Swedish Bank Account?

Standard Swish connects a mobile number to an account at a participating bank. Sending payments and viewing payment history require Mobile BankID; obtaining Mobile BankID requires a Swedish personal identity number. Bank-specific rules vary.

If you do not have that bank and BankID setup, do not assume Peanut can provide access. Peanut is not a Swish workaround today.
