Colombian Peso Account

Open an account in Colombian pesos (COP) once and keep it. Share its bank details with whoever pays you and every payment arrives in your Peanut balance as digital dollars. There is no reference number and no amount to match.

Open One

  1. Open the app and tap Add money
  2. Tap Open an account
  3. Choose Colombian pesos
  4. Copy the bank details, or share them from the app

Every verified person can open one. You get 2 accounts. If you need another, support can open it.

Colombian pesos need one more check by our payment partner after you verify. The app shows One more check for the COP account until it is done.

You get a Bre-B key, which is all a payer in Colombia needs. The app shows the exact name your payer must use. The details never change, so a client can save them once.

Who Can Pay You

You can always pay in from your own bank account. A company can pay you too — payroll, a client, an invoice.

Another individual cannot pay these details by bank. Only you and businesses can pay a Colombian pesos account. If a friend wants to send you money, ask them to send you digital dollars instead.

Getting Paid and Cashing Out

Colombian pesos work both ways. Get paid into this account, and withdraw pesos to a Colombian bank account whenever you want. You can also cash out as digital dollars or use one of the other bank rails.

Fees and Limits

Peanut charges no deposit fee. Each payment must be at least 100 COP and at most 11,552,000 COP. Your own bank may set its own limits on outgoing transfers. See the pricing page for the full picture.

What lands in your balance is digital dollars, converted at the rate the app shows.

If a Payment Does Not Arrive

If you sent it from your own bank account, contact support with the transfer confirmation. If somebody else sent it, check who: a payment from another individual is returned to their bank, because Colombian pesos only accept a business or your own account — see Who can pay into my account.

If the payment matched the rule and still came back, contact support with the sender's bank confirmation.

FAQ

Do I need a reference number?

No. These details have no reference. If your payer's bank asks for one, anything they type is ignored.

Does the amount have to match anything?

No. Any amount between 100 COP and 11,552,000 COP works, as many times as you like.

Do I have to live in Colombia?

No. What decides it is whether your account is cleared for the Colombian peso rail, not where you live. The app shows the currency when you can open it.

Can I withdraw pesos to my Colombian bank?

Yes. You can be paid into these details and withdraw Colombian pesos to a Colombian bank account. You can also cash out as digital dollars.

Can I stop using them?

Contact support to request retirement. There is no self-service option yet. Retirement does not switch the details off at the bank: people who already have them can still send. Tell your payers before changing details.
