Use digital dollars with Peanut in Nigeria

Hold, send, and receive digital dollars on supported networks, or create a Peanut Link for someone to claim. Local NGN bank transfers and merchant payments are not available.

Peanut's current features in Nigeria focus on digital dollars. You can add supported currencies from a wallet or exchange, keep a dollar-denominated balance, withdraw to a compatible external wallet, and send money through a Peanut Link.

The app shows the current supported networks, minimum, and received amount before you move funds. There is no local NGN deposit, withdrawal, or merchant-payment route in Peanut today.

Peanut Links in Nigeria

A Peanut Link lets you send part of your balance through a normal web link or QR code. The recipient opens it and claims the money. If they claim to a Peanut account, the balance arrives instantly. The creator can reclaim an unclaimed Link at any time, and Links do not expire.

Creating and claiming a Link in a Peanut account is free. Claims to an external route follow that route's eligibility, timing, minimum, and pricing. Direct NGN bank claims are not supported.

Network fees and safety

Peanut covers deposit processing, but the sending wallet or exchange may charge its own withdrawal fee. For withdrawals, Ethereum, Tron, and Solana charge a destination delivery fee; Peanut covers the network delivery cost on other supported routes. The confirmation screen shows the current fee and received amount.

Always match the currency, network, and address. Solana and Tron use separate address formats, while supported EVM networks use a 0x address. A transfer sent on the wrong network may not be credited or recoverable.

Who this helps

People in Nigeria can use the current features for cross-border support and remote work. A person abroad can create a Peanut Link, and the recipient can claim digital dollars without waiting for a local NGN product. People who already use supported wallets or exchanges can also move funds into or out of Peanut on a compatible network.

Peanut does not convert this balance into naira or send it to a local bank account. Check the destination wallet's exact currency and network support before withdrawing.

Getting started

Create a Peanut account, then use the network selector in the app as the current source for availability. Digital-dollar deposits and withdrawals do not require identity verification. For a Peanut Link, either the creator or the claimer must be verified; the app guides both people through the applicable flow.
